Mailbox Monday

Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came in their mailbox during the last week.

Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists.

Every Wednesday for Books That Caught Our Eye, Leslie, Serena and I will each share 2 books that grabbed our attention from today’s Mailbox Monday post. We hope you’ll join us by posting a comment letting us know the books that caught your eye.

~~~What’s the weather like where you live? I’m wondering if this year will be as crazy as it was last year. It’s supposed to be in the 80’s here this week which is good, I just hope the humidity won’t be high so I can stand being outside for more than 10 minutes.
I hope everyone has a great week!~~~
  1. Hi Vicki,
    Although it is pretty obvious that Autumn is definitely here … it has been pouring with rain most days, the leaves are in full self destruct mode and the winds have been blowing a gale …. you would never be able to tell from the temperatures, which are way up on what they should be. Great news for the heating bills, but the poor birds don’t know whether they are coming or going!!
    Also, the sales of Winter clothes in my charity shop are way down, as they are over much of retail … Who wants a Winter coat and boots in this heat? … Trading figures are only likely to add to the woe of the economic situation.
    Never mind, I am sure there are some great books for me to check out this week, to help ease the doom and gloom!
    Thanks for hosting,
    • We just got out of our rainy season, so glad of that!
      Winter clothes are hard to find here. My husband has been looking for a heavy jacket for a few years now and the only ones he can find cost $100 or more. He’s cheap when it comes to stuff like that so he won’t spend that much. But.. he has paid way more than that quite a few times for a black cowboy hat! I don’t think I’ll ever understand men 🙂
  2. Last winter was crazy for the people living where it snows!! I hope you don’t have to go through that again! I would like to go back north to see snow again though.
