Mailbox Monday

Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came in their mailbox during the last week. Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists.

It’s August, and summer is winding down for us folks in the north. I’m seeing back-to-school ads and the college kids are already packing up and leaving. My garden did well this year — lots of flowers and veggies, probably due to our mild, rainy summer in the Midwest. Unfortunately my sunflowers didn’t come up this year so I resurrected the photo above from years past.

Hope everyone had a good book week. And good weather too! Weather seems to be a universal constant! Tell us about your new books by adding your Mailbox Monday post to the linky below:

Be sure to stop back here on Wednesday for Books That Caught Our Eye.

  1. Hi Leslie,

The school holidays are only on week 2 of 6 over here, so upside, the rush hour roads are very quiet – down side, for those of us in retail the little darlings invade us on a daily basis!!

One parent had views after my own heart, when I heard her telling her child “Look with your eyes, not your hands”. Hooray! someone who gets this whole discipline thing 🙂

Thanks for hosting this month and ‘Happy Reading’ in this beautiful weather (well at least it was today, not holding my breath for the rest of this week though!)

  2. It is getting to be school time. We have a niece and two nephews heading off to college for the first time this year. Exciting for them. One niece is going back for year two. The rest are all out of college and working. 🙂 There is one niece still in high school and two great nieces in third and first grade. A HUGE range of ages. 🙂

I have been retired for five years but still feel the pull to look at the school stuff and get things ready for the classroom. It does lessen each year, though. 🙂

    Have a great reading week.

  3. We had some cool and rainy days lately, which wasn’t fun for the kiddo who loves the pool. LOL But we finished all her school shopping. I’m not sure what clothes she will need yet, but I think most of her stuff will still fit her for most of the fall. She’ll need a winter jacket, but that I’ll get a little later.

No garden this year, as I’ve been too busy, but the rose bush has given us multiple blooms this year.
