Mailbox Monday

mailboxes-1Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came in their mailbox during the last week. Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day to those who celebrate! The family and I will be having our corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, and carrots for dinner. Earlier in the week, we had some warmer weather, with some nice sunny days. It has helped us get a head start on some spring cleaning in the yard. I’ve read some great poetry collections and listened to some audiobooks from Jane Austen Fan Fiction authors, which have kept me entertained. I hope everyone had a great week.

Please come back later in the week when we share the Books That Caught Our Eye.

  1. I don’t particularly celebrate St. Patrick’s Day (I’m not Irish nor am I in Ireland, though it is on my bucket list, or in America) but I have a friend whose birthday is on St. Patrick’s Day and there was green cake and beer at her birthday party…does that count?

Your mention of Jane Austen fan fiction reminds me that the last thing Austen related I saw was Pride and Prejudice and Zombies…and I still don’t know what to think.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day to you and yours.

    • I’m only a tiny bit Irish, but we had my full-blooded Irish friend in town for a visit, so that made it more special — especially since it was a surprise.

The birthday party sounds delightful and it definitely counts! ๐Ÿ™‚

PPZ was not the best of Austen fiction. Try Victoria Kincaid if you want something similar to what Austen wrote or for modern ones, try some Teri Wilson, Cat Gardiner, etc. I have a bunch on my blog you can check out.
