Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came in their mailbox during the last week. Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists.

Monday is Memorial Day in the US, a day of remembrance of those who died while serving in the armed forces. It is also the unofficial start of summer. Although this summer is going to be a lot different that those in the past as there are no parades, events, or gathering for the foreseeable future.

    It is also a holiday Monday, here in the UK and it is going to be a HOT one! We have temperatures more like mid summer for the foreseeable future and have had since lockdown began, back in early March. That was also about the last time we had any rain and with none forecast, the gardens are beginning to suffer badly. If this carries on there will definitely be water shortages soon and that will be all we need on top of everything else!

  2. We’ve had so much rain that the weeds in my garden are taking over. And now this weekend it is hot! July level hot. We completely missed spring weather. Nothing is predictable anymore. My veggies are two weeks behind in planting because we had a freeze two weeks ago! There is going to be nothing normal about this year.
