Mailbox Monday

It’s officially summer, and I’ve been engrossed in World Cup Soccer again.  My favorite sport’s premier competition.  I may be American, but my grandfather always impressed upon me the skill of the Portuguese team, so you can guess who I’ll be cheering for in his honor this Sunday in the U.S. vs. Portugal game.  What has everyone been up to?

Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came in their mailbox during the last week.

Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists.

Hopefully everyone found some nice goodies in their mailbox last week. Let us know what you received by adding your Mailbox Monday post to the linky below:

On Wednesday I’ll be posting Books That Caught Our Eye. Leslie, Vicki and I will each share 2 books that grabbed our attention from today’s Mailbox Monday posts. We encourage you to share the books that caught your eye in the comments.

  2. Hi Serena,

Being a Brit, football is now a dirty word in our house, after England’s poor display, especially if after already finding themselves knocked out of the competition, they now go and have a good game against Costa Rica on Tuesday!

Better hopes for Andy Murray and Wimbledon, although true to form, the lovely weather we have been having, is set to break and rain is sweeping in!

Thanks for hosting and see you on Wednesday.

    Yvonne

  3. We’re watching at our house. The equalizer near the end of stoppage time in the US/Portugal game was astounding but it was a pretty good game. Thrilled the US is hanging in there 🙂

    • The U.S. is in a very tough group. Portugal is usually in a tough group — that is a telltale sign of how much the U.S. had improved over the years in international standing. It’s great that they are doing so well. I just want big upsets in the group — I’d like to see Portugal and U.S. get out to the elimination rounds.
